Title The effect of array verifies on I/O performance

Abstract There is a need to verify arrays on the RAL Tier 1 disk servers to check for bad blocks and other inconsistencies, therby reducing the risk of data loss. This can be achieved using the array verify commands on the RAID controllers. Recommendations are made on the implementation of array verifies within the RAL Tier 1.
