Abstract
Development of nanosecond, kJ-class diode pumped solid state laser systems with multi-Hz repetition rate is pivotal for extreme high energy laser projects and applications. We present a conceptual design of a diode-pumped cryogenic kJ-class Yb:YAG amplifier as a potential pump source for Ti:Sapphire or OPCPA systems which are required for ultra-high intensity projects such as ELI.
