Abstract
FLAME - the Flexible Large-scale Agent Modelling Environment - is a framework for developing agent-based models. FLAME has been developed in a collaboration between the Computer Science Department of the University of Sheffield and the Software Engineering Group of the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. This report documents the FLAME implementation of the Cellular Automata pro- gram known as the the Game of Life. The Game of Life was invented by John Horton Conway and it has been used extensively in demonstrating and testing complex sys tems software.
